Eric Roberts (“The Dark Knight”, “The Expendables”) is set to star in a new ABC drama pilot titled “Grace“. It centers on Michael Grace (Roberts), a famous choreographer who tends to sleep with his dancers and has three daughters with different mothers. A much better dance teacher than he is a father, he is in danger of losing his studio until one of his daughters steps in as studio manager [Deadline]

“Monsters” star Scoot McNairy has landed the lead role in director Andrew Dominik’s “Cogan’s Trade“. The flick, also starring James Gandolfini and Brad Pit, is just one of several high-profile roles the young actor has been courted for of late; he’s also in contention to snag starring roles in “Prometheus” and “Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Hunter”. Darren Aronofsky’s “RoboCop” may still happen. Says the filmmaker, “It’s MGM, and hopefully they’ll clear their stuff up, and I’m still interested. David Self wrote a great script, but the company went under, so … ” [The Playlist]

Contrary to reports that Zack Snyder is off and Guy Ritchie is on, the Brit filmmaker’s reps tell EW that he’s not directing “Xerxes”, the “300” prequel that Snyder has long been attached to.

Young “Life Unexpected” star Britt Robertson is staying put at the CW. She’ll have the lead role in Kevin Williamson’s new series “Secret Circle“, the story of a young woman who moves to a new town and discovers she’s a witch. [Deadline]

David Giuntoli (MTV’s ”Turn the Beat Around”) will star in the fantastical cop drama “Grimm“, about a world in which characters inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales exist. Grimm centers on Nick Burckhardt (Giuntoli), a good-looking detective who starts to see humans as beast/animals and discovered that he has a legacy – to protect “humans” from these beasts. Megan Dodds has joined Ethan Hawke in the new pilot “Exit Strategy“, an Antoine Fuqua-directed C.I.A series. [TV Squad]

Orlando Jones (“Evolution”) will play a member of an elite police crew who are formed to battle identity-related crimes in ABC’s new pilot “Identity“. Former “Prison Break” star Wentworth Miller is also in talks to join the series [The Wrap]

Paramount has scheduled “Hansel & Gretel : Witch Hunters 3D” starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arteron for March 2, 2012. In addition, MGM have come onboard to co-finance. [Variety]

Former “Chicago Hope” star Christine Lahti is returning to the E.R with the starring role in the new CBS drama “The Doctor“. The show centers on a mother (Lahti) who reconnects with her adult children when she joins the family medical practice. [Deadline]

Michael Bay and Taylor Lautner are teaming up on a project that they’re auctioning off, with all of the major studios in contention to bid. The script is said to be “Mr & Mrs. Smith meets Wanted” [Deadline]

Sarah Jessica Parker seems to think there’ll be another “Sex and the City” movie – but not for a few years. “I would go back, I think there’s one more story to tell. I know there is. I’d definitely tell that [third] story, and I know Michael [Patrick Kind] would do it right. But maybe not now. Maybe in five years, you know? It’s not that I want to get away from [SATC]. Magic Stone Productions announced today it has acquired and will produce the feature film “Destroy“, directed by Michael Paul Stephenson. In the pic, vampires don’t exist, but that doesn’t stop well-intentioned would-be vampire hunter Steve Howard from leaving a trail of blood-splattered wooden stakes across Bavaria. While he thinks he’s saving the world, he and new assistant Elise are mistakenly murdering sweet, innocent old men.

Charles C.Custer‘s new online webseries “Cop Hard“, an exciting new weekly web series from the producers of ”Van Diemen’s Land”, will launch this Friday, February 17th. Melbournites will be the first to view the show when it is unveiled at an all-in party at Bella Union, Trades Hall, Carlton, to be attended by the cast and crew. Entry is free, and guests will be treated to a sneak peek at two webisodes of the show (the show premieres at CopHard.com Midnight today)

Joe Wright promises his next flick “Hanna” will be full-to-the-brim action. “I think action is like pure cinema because it can’t be replicated in any other medium. With drama, you can put people on a stage. With photography, you can put it in a gallery. With action, it really only works in cinema and that’s because of montage.
