Quick News : You season 3; Raymond and Ray reunites 2 big stars; Marvel stars join forces; Dave Franco’s next directing gig; The Guilty trailer

Netflix has announced the release date of the third season of “You”, starring Penn Badgely with a little teaser video.

Premiering October 15th, the series will focus on Joe (Badgley) and Love (Victoria Pedretti), now married and raising their baby, who have moved to the balmy Northern California enclave of Madre Linda, where they’re surrounded by privileged tech entrepreneurs, judgmental mommy bloggers and Insta-famous biohackers. Joe is committed to his new role as a husband and dad, but fears Love’s lethal impulsiveness. And then there’s his heart. Could the woman he’s been searching for all this time live right next door? Breaking out of a cage in a basement is one thing. But the prison of a picture-perfect marriage to a woman who’s wise to your tricks? Well, that’ll prove a much more complicated escape.

Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke are set to play two half-brothers in “Raymond and Ray” for Apple Studios. McGregor will play Raymond, while Hawke will portray Ray, both of whom grapple with the legacy of their difficult relationship with their demanding parent.

According to the logline, “Somehow, they still each have a sense of humor, and [their father’s] funeral is a chance for them to reinvent themselves. There’s anger, there’s pain, there’s folly, there might be love, and there’s definitely grave-digging.”

Also at Apple Studios, Marvel stars Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson are set to reunite in adventure film “Ghosted”, directed by Dexter Fletcher.

Details about the pic are scarce, but “Ghosted” is being described as “a high-concept romantic action adventure in the vein of “Romancing the Stone””. News via THR.

Dave Franco is set to direct “Somebody I Used to Know” for Amazon Studios from a script he co-wrote with Alison Brie, who will also star.

“Somebody I Used to Know” will follow workaholic Ally (Brie), who, on a trip to her hometown, spends time with her ex-boyfriend Sean (Ellis), which has her questioning everything about the choices she’s made and the person she is. Her life only gets more confusing when she meets Cassidy (Clemons), a younger woman who reminds her of the person she used to be.

The film is set to debut on Amazon Prime in 2022. News via THR.

Netflix have released a teaser trailer for “The Guilty” starring Jake Gyllenhaal. It was directed by Antoine Fuqua and also stars Ethan Hawke, Peter Sarsgaard, Riley Keough, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Paul Dano, and Bill Burr.

The film sees a troubled police detective demoted to 911 operator duty scrambles to save a distressed caller during a harrowing day of revelations — and reckonings. To be released this September.
