Rappaport on Prison Break end

A couple of weeks ago it was that announced that the current season of ”Prison Break” would be extended by two-hours.

Most assumed those two extra episodes were added to the line-up so the show could be wrapped up – not just for the season, but for good. Ya see, the show hasn’t actually been rating that well since, well, that first ‘Prison Break’ per say, and the numbers for this current season (though a little more fun than last season) are as low as a bank robbing white supremacist. It’s the only thing that makes sense – why would FOX extend the season of a show that’s no longer working?

So yes, let’s all just assume the show is over.

Now, according to the trades, those two hours aren’t necessarily ‘episodes’ but a telefilm –a’la “24 : Redemption” – the telemovie spin-off of the Kiefer Sutherland-starring series that aired last week in the states – something that could possibly air after the 22 episodes go to air.

Again, it’s assumed the telemovie will serve as a season finale.

Moviehole caught up with actor Michael Rappaport, who plays Agent Self in the current season, to find out what he knew. Not much it seems.

“I heard they’re doing 24, instead of 22”, Rapport said. ‘’I don’t know how it’s going to play itself out, but I’m sure they’re going to have something fun lined up’’.

So there you have it. Nobody knows what’s going on with “Prison Break” – not even the actors on it. I
l’ll guess they’ll find out in a couple of weeks when they’re all freed from their contracts and given the go-ahead to look for employment elsewhere.
