Reese Witherspoon bringing Great Expectations to TV

‘Great Expectations’ – hmmm, sounds like Reese Witherspoon’s motto post-Oscar Win for “Walk the Line”.

The “Just Like Heaven” sweetie has inked a deal to bring Charles Dicken’s classic to to The CW. She’ll produce alongside Mills Goodloe, who is also penning the pilot.

The Hollywood Reporter says the update “revolves around a small-town girl with big dreams of making it in the city who is quickly disillusioned by the harsh reality of living in San Francisco — that is until her fortunes unexpectedly turn thanks to an anonymous benefactor.”

Witherspoon would’ve been perfect to play the part herself, fifteen years ago.
