Rian Johnson working on Knives Out sequel

“Knives Out” is still in cinemas, but proving to be a very lucrative film grossing nearly $250 million worldwide. It’s only fitting that writer/director Rian Johnson has confirmed that he’s already working on the sequel – centring on Daniel Craig’s Southern detective Benoit Blanc investigating a new case.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at Lionsgate’s pre-Golden Globes party, Johnson noted he’d like to work on the film ASAP – getting it to camera by next year. Johnson’s producing partner Ram Bergman added that Craig was eager to reprise the role. “Daniel had so much fun doing it, and he wants to do more,” he said.

The caveat is that Lionsgate is yet to greenlight a sequel, but one would think a potential franchise is a great way to make some coin!
