Robert Duvall is The Judge

Robert Duvall, seen recently in “Jack Reacher”, will feature alongside Robert Downey Jr, playing father and son, in “The Judge”.

Variety says of the David Dobkin-directed picture :

[It’s a] dramedy about a big-city lawyer who returns to his childhood home where his estranged father, the town’s judge, is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before.

Jack Nicholson and Tommy Lee Jones were considered for the role of The Judge before Warners offered the part to Duvall.

The female lead role, that of Downey’s ex-girlfriend, is said to be between Vera Farmiga and Elizabeth Banks as of today.
