“Sin City” star Rosario Dawson is the frontrunner to fill the female lead spot on HBO’s “True Detective”, according to The Wrap.
Jessica Biel would be a close runner-up.
Should Dawson’s John Hancock end up on the dotted bit, the foxy Dawson would play one of four detectives (Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, and Taylor Kitsch as the other three) investigating the murder of a prominent businessman who had been playing to build a high-speed railway system across California.
Dawson may be ahead in the race, but there’s some other capable contenders biting at her stiletto heels. According to the aforesaid site, the network are also looking at Jaime Alexander (“Thor”), Malin Akerman (“Watchmen”), Oona Chaplin (“Game of Thrones”), Brit Marling (“Arbitrage”) and Kelly Reilly (“Flight”). Previously-rumoured candidates Rachel McAdams and Elisabeth Moss remain in the mix.
If Dawson is thrown a badge, “True Detective” will reunite her with her “Alexander” co-star Colin Farrell.
