Saints Row film in development with F. Gary Gray to direct

Hit action video game “Saints Row” is being adapted into a film at Warner Bros, and F. Gary Gray (“The Fate of the Furious” and the upcoming “Men in Black: International”) will direct. Greg Russo is penning the script, and is also writing the “Mortal Kombat” reboot.

Per the Deadline exclusive: Created by Deep Silver Volition, “Saints Row” spans four installments and has become one of the top-selling video game franchises of all time. It tells the story of the rise of the Third Street Saints as they battle rival gangs in an attempt to conquer the fictional cities of Stilwater and Steelport.

The “Saints Row” movie has been in the works for a long while, with 50 Cent attached to the project in the past.

No extra plot details have been revealed as yet.
