Sam Neill may be aboard Taika Waititi’s “Thor : Love and Thunder”, now filming in Sydney.
Neil, who first worked with the New Zealand director on the acclaimed “Hunt for the Wilderpeople”, was an actor playing Odin in a stage play in the previous “Thor” film. Matt Damon appeared in the same scene, as the actor playing Loki. Damon returns for the new film.
Talking with ET Online, the “Jurassic Park” actor suggested he’s reuniting with Damon for a similar scene in the new movie.
“I think the odds are reasonably high. I think Taika’s got something up his sleeve. We will see what happens. Travel between [New Zealand] and Australia is problematic at the moment, but we will see if something can be worked out.”
A travel bubble between Australia and New Zealand was in the works before the latter country confirmed a case of the highly-contagious South African COVID-19 variant. When it gets running, a trans-Tasman travel bubble will allow unrestricted travel between Australia and New Zealand borders.
