Sarandon, Duplass join Tammy

“The Mindy Project”’s Mark Duplass and legendary Susan Sarandon have been cast alongside the hilarious Melissa McCarthy (“Bridesmaids”) in “Tammy”, reports Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter.

“Tammy” sees McCarthy’s character go through a comedy of errors after she loses her job, discovers her husband has been unfaithful to her, and then ultimately ‘hits the road’ with her grandmother. Duplass will play the ‘man’ that McCarthy meets on her road trip, Sarandon would star as the grandmother.

Kathy Bates will also have a role in the film.

McCarthy will co-direct the project with her husband, Ben Falcone (“Bridesmaids”, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”). The duo also wrote the script together.

Duplass has just wrapped four projects, all due for release over the next twelve months or so.
