Scarlett Johansson to have a steamy shower scene in Sacha Gervasi’s next film

Seems there was something even more exciting going on behind-the-screen, as opposed to on it, on Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho” – if you can believe that.

Documentarian and screenwriter cum feature-director Sacha Gervasi is booting up “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho” (horrible title), a hot little ditty about Hitchcock’s uphill battle to get the ’60s classic, starring Tony Perkins as Norman Bates, made. No studio or producer wanted to touch “Psycho” when Hitchcock presented them with the idea, so the legendary filmmaker was forced to finance the film himself. The film would go on to become not only Hitchock’s biggest commercial hit but a bonafide cash-cow.

Anthony Hopkins is onboard to play Hitchcock, with Helen Mirren attached to play his wife Alma Reville.

The Hollywood Reporter says Scarlett Johansson has now boarded the film; she’ll play Janet Leigh – the acclaimed actress who’ll forever be known for her brief and bloody shower scene in “Psycho”.

“The Making of Psycho”, based on a book by Stephen Rebello and adapted for the screen by John McLaughlin (”Black Swan”), has been in development for a good four or five years. It was originally set up at Paramount but after sitting motionless for four years it was lugged over to Fox Searchlight – which, quite frankly, seems a more fitting home anyway.
