Sequel News : Soldado, Ghostbusters, Star Wars

While you yanks were gnawing the gristly end off a bit of turkey marrow, and we down under were getting about kangaroos singing the Vegimite theme song (which is, of course, what we do whenever we’re not watching the football and knocking back meat pies), Hollywood decided to drop a Trump-sized load of sequel news on us. If even because none of it is especially that interesting, we can save Clint some hosting costs by not dedicating a whole page to the following items.

The writers of the upcoming “Sicario” sequel say Emily Blunt isn’t in the sequel because her story was finished. If the writers of “Attack of the Clones” can find a way to bring Jar Jar Jinks back, then surely someone with a golden pen can find a way to splice Emily Blunt into a scene, no!? While Blunt mightn’t be back for “Soldado”, former “Burn Notice” star Jeffrey Donovan says he will be. Get onto your agent, Em. (The Wrap, Collider)

Despite the disappointing performance of his company’s “Ghostbusters” reboot, GhostCorps CEO Ivan Reitman says there’s definitely more “Ghostbusters” projects in the works. He doesn’t state what the mysterious projects are. Meanwhile, Bill Murray books a one way flight to Aleppo. (Comic Book)

With only a couple of weeks left until the next “Star Wars” movie, expect to see your Facebook news feed containing the words “Vader” and “Mendo” more frequently. Over the weekend a picture hit the net of Jimmy Smits in “Rogue One : A Star Wars Story”. Smits was, of course, in those dire prequel movies. He reprises the character for what’s hopefully a better movie than that one where Anakin whined. Oh wait, that was all of them.
