Spaceballs may be back! Chucky definitely is!

While he has mentioned the possibility of regrouping the surviving members of the 1987 original (we’ve since lost John Candy, Dick Van Patten, and Joan Rivers), “Spaceballs” helmer Mel Brooks hasn’t seemed in any sort of hurry to get going on that long-gestating follow-up. But with “Star Wars” back and bigger than ever, is a new “Spaceballs” film finally inching forward?
Strangely enough, teaser posters – spoofing Darth Vader’s most recent look (in “The Force Awakens”) – for a supposed sequel popped up in a New York subway this week. Though professional looking, they look like they’ve been hastily slapped up. And considering we’ve heard nothing official on the film, it’d seem unlikely these are legit. Still… anything is possible!? And the time is definitely ripe for a sequel! (Via MovieWeb)

In sequel news that you can take to the bank, Don Mancini is getting ready to roll on a seventh “Child’s Play” film. The follow-up DTV sequel “Curse of Chucky” – which returned to the series to it’s roots as chilling horror fare- will also bring Jennifer Tilly back to the fold… or so Mancini and Tilly’s tweets suggest :

Seems Fiona Dourif, the heroine of the last flick, is also back.
