Sigourney Weaver wants to do another Alien movie

At one stage there was talk of an “Alien” movie that would’ve seen series kings Ridley Scott and James Cameron working up a new chapter in the life of Ellen Ripley, with Sigourney Weaver reprising her trademark role. But before one could stamp “Alien vs Predator” on a theatre booking calendar, the idea took a hike. And since then (the “AvP” movie), Weaver has said she’s not interested in doing another “Alien” movie, feeling the reputation of the series has been tarnished by inferior knock-off product.

But with a Ridley Scott directed “Alien” prequel, er sorry, “Prometheus” in the works, and the “Alien” Blu-ray set selling like red-hooker shoes on Chapel St, might Weaver have changed her tune?
Speaking to Moviefone, the actress said she’s interested in playing the gun-toting space-babe again – but isn’t sure the studio would want her.

”I could definitely kick that alien’s ass again. [Ripley]’s a smart hero, it’s the way she thinks, but just looking at the way the business is…While I can’t speak for them, I think for Fox, once you’re sixty, you’re not going to be starring in an action movie. I think it’s too bad that that’s the case. I would have liked to do one last story where we go back to the planet, where Ripley’s history is resolved. But I do feel like her story is unfinished.”

Indeed. What do you guys think? Any ideas for Ripley’s return?
