- Kevin Costner isn’t against doing a sequel to his 1992 hit “The Bodyguard” (and, in fact, toyed with the idea of doing a sequel shortly after the original – with the late Princess Diana!) – but knows he’d have a helluva job on his hands finding someone as wonderful as the late Whitney Houston to play his beloved client. “It would have to be someone really special.”
- The upcoming Bryan Fuller produced “Star Trek” TV series will be set at the beginning of the 24th Century, so after the events of “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country” and “Star Trek: Generations” but before the “Star Trek : The Next Generation” TV series. The new series is targeted to air in January.
- A cinematic universe featuring the classic ‘Hanna-Barbera’ characters is in the works. The first film in a series of films that will interlink will be called “S.C.O.O.B” and primarily focus on, of course, Scooby Doo!.
- Despite suggestions that his “Predator” character is returning, Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t yet attached to “The Predator”… though it sounds like he will be involved in some capacity.
- Legendary filmmaker Brian De Palma will direct “The Truth and Other Lies”, a black comedy about a seemingly perfect husband whose perfect world and reputation is in jeopardy when his mistress falls pregnant.
- The producers of Disney’s critically acclaimed “Jungle Book” want Jennifer Lawrence for the recently-announced sequel.
- Will Deadpool meet Spider-Man in an upcoming movie? Seems like a possibility.
- The next “Indiana Jones” film will be a continuation of the events in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom the Crystal Skull”. Groan.
- “Ant-Man and the Wasp” will reportedly be as much about Evangeline Lily’s ‘Wasp’ as it will be Paul Rudd’s ‘Ant-Man’. Well, duh.
- After three decades, “Princess Bride” co-stars Cary Elwes and Mandy Patinkin have reunited – for a new movie.
