Paramount Pictures is taking us down the yellow brick road, retelling the story of one of the greatest musicians to grace a lyric sheet – Elton John.
“Rocketman” stars Taron Egerton (who, coincidentally, co-starred with John in “Kingsman : The Golden Circle”) as Sir Elton in a Dexter Fletcher-directed biopic that explores the “Circle of Life” singer’s breakthrough years. Jamie Bell, Richard Madden and Bryce Dallas Howard co-star.
“There are moments in a rock star’s life that define who he is,” Richard Madden says, in the trailer’s voiceover. “Where there was darkness, there is now you – and it’s going to be a wild ride.”
Egerton has described the film as more of a fantasy version of John’s life than a straight-forward biopic.
“Rocketman” is due Summer 2019.
