Tessa Thompson is the latest recruit in Sony’s “Men in Black” reboot, joining her “Thor” co-star Chris Hemsworth.
F. Gary Gray is directing the film, and it’s had a release date set of June 14, 2019. Matt Holloway and Art Marcum have written the script.
The reboot is to feature new characters, and will build on the contemporary sci-fi world in which Agents K and J from the original trilogy (Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith) operated.
More details on the film are being guarded at this stage, but according to The Hollywood Reporter‘s sources, the new project is more of an ensemble piece than a two-hander and will be more global in scope.
Thompson played Valkyrie in “Thor”, alongside lead Hemsworth. While Hemsworth’s deal isn’t yet closed for “Men in Black”, it’s expected to very soon.
