The Justice League contenders are…

Most of the cast of “Friday Night Lights”, among others

Seems IESB’s report suggesting Adam Brody (“In the Land of Women”, TV’s “The OC”) and Common (“Smokin’ Aces”) are up for roles in George Miller’s “Justice League” is more accurate than an abacas, with The Hollywood Reporter confirming both actors are indeed in the mix to play The Flash and the Green Lantern, respectively, in the superhero flick.

Also reportedly in the mix are Aussie actress Theresa Palmer (“The Grudge 2”); Joseph Cross (“Running with Scissors”); D.J. Cotrona (“Windfall”), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (‘’Grindhouse’’), Michael Angarano (‘’Sky High’’), and Max Thieriot (Jumper). The cast of “Friday Night Lights” are also keen to don tights too, it seems, with Minka Kelly, Adrianne Palicki and Scott Porter all contenders as well.

Miller is seeing about four or five actors for the parts of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern and the Martian Manhunter, with a few overlaps. A few nonhero parts might be testing as well. No costumes are involved in the tests, which are being taped as actors read script pages.

Miller is apparently keen to cast young actors who can grow into their roles over several – yes, several – movies.

The director is expected to hand his wish-list to the WB mid-week.
