TV casting : Lucas, Casella, Quaid, Helman, Herriman, Morris, George, Annable

Amongst plenty of casting news, Josh Lucas is set to join the cast of NBC/WBTV’s “The Mysteries of Laura”.
The hour-long pilot will follow the life and relationships of homicide detective Laura Diamond, played by Debra Messing. Lucas will play her soon-to-be ex-husband Jake, who winds up as captain of Laura’s precinct. Jake is a serial cheater who just needs to sign the papers for the divorce to be final, however in the meantime, he leaves the parenting of the couple’s young twins to Laura.
“The Mysteries of Laura” is written by Jeff Rake and directed by McG.

In other casting news, HBO’s untitled rock ‘n’ roll drama pilot has added Max Casella (“The Sopranos”) and Jack Quaid (“The Hunger Games” films) to its cast.
The show is to be set amid the 1970s emerging punk scene in New York, where the new additions will play music execs Julian “Julie” Silver and Clark Morelle respectively.
The project also stars Bobby Cannavale as Richie Finestra, the founder and president of a top record label, Olivia Wilde, as his former actress-model wife, and Juno Temple as his manipulative, ambitious assistant.

Further casting announcements see Josh Helman (“X-Man”) and Damon Herriman (“Justified”) joining the cast of Starz’s ballet drama “Flesh and Bone”.

It was also announced that “Pretty Little Liar’s” Julian Morris has signed on as a series regular in Amazon Studios’ pilot “Hand of God”.

Meanwhile, Melissa George will star alongside Rufus Sewell in ABC’s untitled drama about the love and rivalry between powerful socialites, Philip Fitzgerald Julien (Sewell) and Margot Worth Cole (George).

Odette Annable (“House”) has also been picked up, set to play one of the leads in ABC’s 10-ep summer drama “Astronaut Wives Club” and Necar Zadegan (“Rake”) will join Lisa Edelstein in “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”.
