Universal moving forward with Battlestar Galactica movie

The “Battlestar Galactica” reboot movie is alive and well – for better or worse.

Variety says “Transcendence” writer Jack Paglen has been hired to write the screenplay for the film, which is described as a “complete reimaginging” of the story.

There have been three “Galactica” TV series (including “Galactica 1980”), including the popular Sci Fi Channel version that ran for four seasons. A spin-off, “Caprica” followed, as did the one-off telemovie (originally envisioned as a pilot) “Blood and Chrome”.

Glen Larson, who produced the original “Galactica”, will be back for the film.

Bryan Singer was rumoured to be directing a “Battlestar Galactica” movie a few years ago.
