A web-only prequel to J.T Petty’s “The Burrowers” will premiere on Fear Net in December, says The Hollywood Reporter. There will be seven 3-5 minute episodes in the prequel collection.

Following a fierce bidding war, Warner Bros. has cut a deal with CBS for the rights to a Jerry Bruckheimer-produced adaptation of Brit thriller “Eleventh Hour.” More details at Variety.

Jennifer Garner will star opposite Matthew McConaughey in “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past”, says Variety. The story centers on a charming womanizer who is visited by the apparitions of girlfriends past, present and future while attending the wedding of his younger brother. He eventually realizes that he is in love with his childhood sweetheart.

Jim Broadbent tells Dark Horizons that he’s been asked to join the cast of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” as Horace Slughorn, a retired potion’s master lured back to the school in the sixth installment of the “Potter” franchise, due out in November 2008.

Will Kemp (“Van Helsing”) has joined the cast of “Step Up 2 : The Streets”, in production now for a February 2008 release.

Dash Mihok, Doug Hutchison and Colin Salmon have joined the cast of “The Punisher : Welcome Back Frank”, Lexi Alexander says via her official site. “As I look at their headshots on the wall in my office, my heart does little summersaults. TVGuide talked to George Lucas about not having Sean Connery be a part of “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. Says Lucas, “It’s just a completely different character, so you’re not invested in him in any way. The fact that that character, after the first part of the movie, isn’t needed doesn’t become a problem. Whereas I think with the scene we had, where [Indy] says goodbye to his dad, everybody was, “Wait a minute! Isn’t he coming back?” So in the end, I think it turned out for the best. Sean just retired and he wants to stay retired, and I understand that. [Laughs] I think he just said, “Look, I’ve done it, I’ve done it.” He was very tempted, you know, and we talked for a long time. But in the end, he just said, “Eh, I’m playing golf.”
