Damon Wayans Jr (“Happy Endings”) and Jake Johnson (“New Girl”) will star in Fox’s “Let’s Be Cops”, a comedy co-written and to be directed by Luke Greenfield. “Mr & Mrs Smith” scribe Simon Kinberg is one of the film’s producers.
Deadline says :
The film is about two best friends looking for a little more out of life. They impersonate cops for kicks, but when they unknowingly mess with a real mobster, the game gets real. Casting is getting underway on the other roles.
Wayans and Johnson had previously worked together on the “New Girl” pilot. Wayans was replaced for the series, as his sitcom “Happy Endings” was unexpectedly picked up.
Greenfield wrote the script with Nick Thomas.
