There’s been talk of a “Firefly” revival for a few years now – most recently, for possible inclusion on Disney’s streaming platform. With Joss Whedon’s career deliquescing, has the balloon of hope been popped?
In news that’ll no doubt divide, Patreon scooper Daniel Richtman has heard a “Firefly” reboot is still in the works – Whedon just won’t be involved.
While there’s no news on what a “Firefly” 2.0 might look like, one can only imagine the outcry if the revival doesn’t share a couple of cast connections with the 2002 original.
The first and only season of “Firefly” is currently available on Disney+’s international offshoot ‘Star’.
The same scooper with news on Serenity’s return recently revealed that the previously-announced “Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” will also still push forward, and again, without Whedon.
