Zombieland director frontrunner for Uncharted

“Zombieland” director Ruben Fleischer is the frontrunner to direct Sony’s “Uncharted” film.

Travis Knight recently departed the pic because of a scheduling clash, leaving the studio on a frantic beseech to nab a surrogate. No surprise that they’d court Fleischer, who gave the studio one of their biggest successes in recent years with “Venom”.

According to Deadline, no deal is done but the filmmaker – who also helmed 2019’s “Zombieland : Double Tap” for Sony – is atop of the wish list.

The action-adventure film is based on the Playstation video game and stars Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. The screenplay was penned by Rafe Judkins and the ”Iron Man” team of Art Marcum & Matt Holloway.
