Zoolander 2 not coming anytime soon to a theater near you!

We’ve been waxing lyrical on “Zoolander 2” since – – – well, Owen Wilson himself told me it was ‘as good as happening’ post-interview about ten years back.

Last we heard, Ben Stiller and Wilson were still hammering away on the storyline for the ‘further adventures of Blue Steel’ jaunt. But things don’t seem to have progressed beyond that.

Speaking at the Taormina Film Festival, the “Secret Life of Walter Mitty” star suggested plans for a sequel to the 2001 hit had stalled.

“The film’s been discussed and in some way in the works for 10 years,” Stiller said, “But there are no plans to start production any time soon.”

The actor did reassure fans that they’re still developing the project (mentioning they’re “actively” working on a rewrite of the script) but wanted folks to know that any sequel is a long time away.

“I can’t say that it’s actually a reality yet, but I hope some day it is”.
