No doubt it’s merely one of the many offers newcomer Daisy Ridley has received after her staggeringly successful turn in “Star Wars : The Force Awakens”, so there’s as much chance she’ll take it as there is the offer barely registering on her radar, but nonetheless according to Deadline, MGM and Warner Bros fancy the foxy Brit for their upcoming “Tomb Raider” reboot.
According to Deadline, Ridley – currently filming “Star Wars Episode VIII” – has chatted with the powers-that-be about the part, but she hasn’t signed. Again, she mightn’t even be that keen. After all, the previous films in the franchise didn’t do that much for Angelina Jolie’s credibility as a bonafide thesp.
This new version of “Tomb Raider” will reportedly be an origin tale of Lara Croft, thus the hiring of someone in their early twenties for the lead – be it Ridley or one of the other many actresses said to be on the studio and producer Graham King’s wishlist.
