More on that rumoured Wedding Crashers sequel!

A couple of days ago, Clint reported on a possible “Wedding Crashers” sequel that Isla Fisher had apparently gotten wind of. According to the Aussie actress, she’d bumped into Vince Vaughn, her co-star in the original, who’d basically told her to prep herself for more juvenile fun because a belated follow-up was in the works.

Deadline followed up on the news and have discovered that a sequel to the film, which co-starred Vaughn and Owen Wilson, is indeed in the works. It would also retain the cast of the original film and bring back director Dave Dobkin.

Says the outlet, “Insiders say there is reason to be hopeful, even though it’s not near a green light because the stars need to sign off creatively and then make deals that will be pricey. I’m told is a sequel script has just been turned in by Evan Susser & Van Robichaux to New Line, and the plan is for David Dobkin to return as director, along with the original stars Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Fisher and Rachel McAdams. No word on whether they’ll try to bring back Will Ferrell, Bradley Cooper or Christopher Walken, each of whom had memorable moments in the first film. Andrew Panay is returning as producer.”

The original “Wedding Crashers” made $285 million on a $40 million budget.
