Obi-Wan Kenobi movie eyes start date

As we eagerly anticipate those full reviews of “Star Wars : The Last Jedi”, which are expected to hit on Tuesday, news concerning one of the more publicized “Star Wars” spin-off movies has hit.

According to Omega Underground, a spin-off feature based on Obi Wan-Kenobi is expected to go before the cameras in February 2019 at Pinewood Studios. The movie, said to be shooting under the title “Joshua Tree”, will likely see Ewan McGregor back in the tan garb, reprising his role from the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy. Stephen Daldy is reportedly being lined up to direct.

If all goes to plan, we could see “Obi-Wan” opening in May or December 2020.

The next standalone “Star Wars” film is “Solo”, which chronicles the younger years of the character famously played by Harrison Ford.
