5 Breaking Bits : Mowgli, early Last Jedi art, Isle of Dogs poster, Looming Tower first look, Justice League Dark concept art

1. So as to distance itself from 2015’s “The Jungle Book” even more, Warner Bros has opted to switch their filmed take on the Rudyard Kipling classic from “Jungle Book : Origins” to simply “Mowgli”. In addition, a new synopsis has been released : “The story follows the upbringing of the human child Mowgli, raised by a wolf pack in the jungles of India. As he learns the often harsh rules of the jungle, under the tutelage of a bear named Baloo and a panther named Bagheera, Mowgli becomes accepted by the animals of the jungle as one of their own. All but one: the fearsome tiger Shere Khan. But there may be greater dangers lurking in the jungle, as Mowgli comes face to face with his human origins.” “Mowgli”, starring Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale and Benedict Cumberbatch, is directed by mo-cap wiz Andy Serkis. 2. Early concept art for “Star Wars : The Last Jedi” shows a very different Luke Skywalker and hints at a different storyline to the one that ended up in the movie. Meanwhile, George Lucas approved-art from a version of “Star Wars Episode VII” (the movie that would be “The Force Awakens”) that never came to be suggests that the emphasis would’ve been on Luke from the get-go of the new trilogy.

3. Fantastic concept art from Joseph Kahn and Guillermo Del Toro’s abandoned “Justice League Dark” film has been been released.  Here’s but one piece :

4. The first poster for Wes Anderson’s new stop-motion flick “The Isle of Dogs” has been released. The film hits March 23, 2018.

5. Hulu has released a first look at their 911 series “The Looming Tower”, which will premiere on Wednesday, February 28.
