So Flashpoint is a comedy, right?

Hot off scripting last year’s “Spider-Man : Homecoming”, dynamic duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have found themselves back in the comicbook movie verse.

The twosome are a signature away from stepping in for director Rick Famuyia on Warner’s “Flashpoint” – the solo adventure for the Crimson speedster, with Ezra Miller reprising his “Justice League” part. Daley and Goldstein have a solid nap-sack of comedy credits to their name, including “Horrible Bosses” and the “Vacation” reboot, suggesting “Flashpoint” is going to be significantly more comedic in tone than previous DC films. That suits the property just fine, I guess, so long as the humour is balanced and not all ridiculous over-the-top funnies. The CW’s “The Flash” is a good example of “The Flash” done right.

Famuyiwa stepped away from the film at the end of November with Warner Bros talking to various filmmakers – including Robert Zemeckis – since.

Scripted by Joby Harold, “Flashpoint” borrows it’s storyline from the classic comic arc. Kiersey Clemons and Billy Crudup are onboard, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan rumoured.
