Bradley Cooper is set to play composer Leonard Bernstein in a new movie from Paramount Pictures and Amblin.
“Bernstein”, says Deadline, will also be Cooper’s sophomore directing effort, following his directorial debut on the upcoming “A Star is Born”.
The script, which will be penned by Cooper and Josh Singer, chronicles the life of Bernstein and his rise from prodigy to such acclaimed works as ”West Side Story”.
The project, which has been in development with different entities over a decade or so, has exclusive access to Bernstein’s songs and life rights via the Bernstein estate.
