Idris Elba cast as villain in Hobbs and Shaw

“Fast and Furious” spin-off “Hobbs and Shaw” has found its villain with Idris Elba getting cast in the role.

The spin-off is being directed by David Leitch and already has stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham reprising their “Fast and Furious” roles special agent Luke Hobbs and criminal mastermind Deckard Shaw respectively.

According to Variety, the film will see the often-at-odds pair teaming up. Sources say Elba’s character is the antagonist the duo will go up against.

Elba has been very busy, recently seen in “The Dark Tower”, “Molly’s Game” and “Thor: Ragnarok”, amongst others.

“Hobbs and Shaw” is set for release July 19, 2019 and will begin production in the US fall.
