Suicide Squad reboot gets title, director, release date!

As if it hasn’t already been a big-enough day for DCEU news (what with Ben Affleck out as “The Batman”),Warner Bros has announced the release date and new title for the “Suicide Squad” reboot.

The film, described as a relaunch rather than a sequel to the 2016 film and featuring all-new characters not seen in the previous take, has been skedded for an August 2021, release. It will be titled “The Suicide Squad”.

With James Gunn writing the script, no surprise to hear he’s also in talks to helm the film. Timely too, what with Gunn’s recent dismissal from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” threequel over at Disney.

No word if Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn will be back for “The Suicide Squad”, especially if they’re set on bringing in new characters for this round, but she is one of the more popular faces of the DCEU so in the least, expect a cameo.
