Mortal Kombat adds two more players

Producer James Wan’s “Mortal Kombat” has tapped Chin Han to play Shang Tsung and Hiroyuki Sanada to play Scorpion. The duo join Joe Taslim (Sub Zero), Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Jessica McNamee (Sonya Blade), Josh Lawson (Kano), Tadanobu Asano (Raiden), Mehcad Brooks (Jackson “Jax” Bridges), Sisi Stringer (Mileena) and Lewis Tan in the Simon Quoid-directed actioner. Black 5  is next for Bay

“Transformers” director Michael Bay is set to direct “Black 5” for Sony. Based on an original idea, one which is being kept under wraps, it is being written by “Scream 3” scribe Ehren Kruger. The project is also being developed as a video game. [More…]

 

Thor alum joins Suicide Squad

“Thor Ragnarok” filmmaker Taika Waititi is in talks for a role in James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” at Warner Bros. No word on what part, or how big. Waititi would join a cast that includes Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag) as well as new castmembers Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), Daniela Melchior (Ratcatcher), Flula Borg, Steve Agee (King Shark) and Nathan Fillion.  [More…]
