Brad Pitt boards Beetlejuice 2

Who will return for the long-awaited sequel to the 1988 classic?

Warner Bros

Plan B, the production company owned by actor Brad Pitt, has boarded the long-gestating “Beetlejuice” sequel.

The film, which has been in development for the better part of twenty years, has been on-and-off Warner Bros’s dance card for years. At one stage a Seth Grahame-Smith script commissioned by WB indicated that the project may be inching forward.

That Grahame-Smith script is no longer being used as the template for the film, with Plan B said to be starting from scratch.

Though the sequel remains in early development, original “Beetlejuice” stars Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder are believed to be attached.

Geena Davis told us a couple of years back that – despite the impossibility of resurrecting her character, an ageless Ghost – that she wanted in on a sequel, should it ever happen. Well, seems the time’s ripe get your agent on the blower, Geen.
