“Suicide Squad” director David Ayer will direct Jason Statham action-thriller “The Bee Keeper”, a vengeance yarn written by “Equilibrium” scribe Kurt Wimmer. Filming begins in Toronto this September.

 

CBS has greenlit the Queen Latifah-starring “Equalizer” for a third and fourth season.

 

Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon, Richard Gere, William H. Macy, Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey are set to star in multi-generational rom-com “Maybe I Do”. The Michael Jacobs penned/directed film “follows Michelle (Roberts) and Allen (Bracey), who have reached the point in their relationship where they are considering next steps. They decide to invite their parents to finally meet and to offer some understanding of why marriage works. Except the parents already know one another quite well, which leads to some very distinct opinions about the value of marriage.”

 

Sam Raimi says he’s in talks with Universal about a sequel to this ’90s classic “Darkman”. Says the filmmaker, “There’s a producer attached. I haven’t heard the story yet or gone into it, I’ve been so busy with (Doctor Strange). But I think it’s cool.”

 

HBO Max has renewed the comedy series “Minx” for a second season. The first season, from creator and showrunner Ellen Rapoport, Feigco Entertainment and Lionsgate Television, debuted in March. EP Ellen Rapoport says, “All of us at Minx have been blown away by the passionate response from audiences across the world, who have mashed-up, TikTok-ed and fanfic-ed us into a renewal. We are so grateful to our partners at HBO Max and Lionsgate for being true champions of the show, and for the opportunity to continue on this journey. Hulu has announced that the new series “Maggie”, starring Rebecca Rittenhouse and David Del Rio, will debut July 6.

Stand-up comedy sensation Jo Koy stars in “Easter Sunday” as a man returning home for an Easter celebration with his riotous, bickering, eating, drinking, laughing, loving family, in this love letter to his Filipino-American community. The film’s trailer has hit ahead of the August 5th theatrical release.
