Matt Shakman, director of Disney’s super-successful “WandaVision” and the recently-tapped helmer of a new Bad Robot-produced Star Trek feature, is rumoured to have been tapped to helm Marvel Studio’s Fantastic Four reboot.
The film, the first live-action film based on the comic series since Josh Trank’s ill-fated 2015 take, is scheduled to open November 8, 2024 – so it makes sense the studio would have their sights on a director. Jon Watts, of Spider-Man fame, had been previously attached to direct but pulled out to concentrate on smaller projects for a while.
The anointment, reported first by The Direct, will reportedly be revealed at D23 later this year.
