Last word on Paul Thomas Anderson’s new flick was that Leonardo Di Caprio was circling the lead. That bit of intel came from Jeff Sneider, who added the pic was a crime drama.

But then this. Cassandra Kulukundis, Anderson’s casting director, posted a casting call beseeching a “teenage girl who excels at Martial Arts”.

So, it’s a crime-drama with martial arts? Cool.

Later, Sneider reported that the film is a father-daughter story about the current GOP, with Marjorie Taylor Greene a character in the film(!).

Ok, cool, crime-drama with martial arts and a political angle, then?

Now, Daniel RPK reports that the movie is actually about a young girl training in martial arts with Di Caprio playing her mentor.

But with a political angle, right? and crime? Didn’t say.

Further, Regina Hall, Rachael Taylor, Joaquin Phoenix, and Viggo Mortensen are also in talks for the film.

Nice cast. Confusing plot – so far.

The untitled production goes into production in the summer.
