Direct sequel to Burton’s Batman in the works

John Jackson Miller has penned a direct sequel to the 1989 movie

John Jackson Miller has penned a direct sequel to 1989’s “Batman”, hitting shelves October 15.

The novel “Batman : Resurrection” will pick up after the events of Tim Burton’s film and see the Caped Cusader continue to expunge the criminal underworld after the death of Joker. Bruce Wayne must use both of his alter egos to put Gotham back on track – a plan that might unravel if Joker isn’t really gone at all.

Says Miller, “Batman shaped the writer I am. I saw it in the theater 12 times. I reviewed it for my college paper and wrote about it often in comics magazines, including an essay on Prince’s Warner Bros. Records soundtrack.
