Last week former “Everwood” star Gregory Smith told us we might soon see his one-time TV dad Treat Williams back on TV again soon.
Seems the show Smith was referring to was “Against the Wall”, a nice family police drama that’s set up at Lifetime. The show would team Williams with “Picket Fences” alum Kathy Baker.
You’ll also recall Smith and I talking about Williams’ much-welcome return to the ‘big’ screen of late, appearing in Danny Boyle’s “127 Hours”. Well, here’s the thing, if “Against the Wall” gets a good run, then Williams won’t be able to do any of these big flicks he’s being courted for – and when I stress big flicks, I mean it.
As previously rumoured, Williams confirms to Zap2it that he’s up for a role in the new Spaghetti Western that Quentin Tarantino is putting together.
In addition, Williams suggests he’s been asked to be a part of “The Dark Knight Rises”, undoubtedly one of the biggest releases of 2012. But both, it seems, might not longer be on the cards for the veteran actor.
But, says the “Prince of the City” (classic!) star, “What that’s old adage? ‘Don’t worry what people say, as long as your name is spelled right.’ I think ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ came up before [‘Against the Wall’] was set, because that might take me into September. I think that would be a direct conflict. But we should all have such problems, right?”
Indeed.
