Rufus Sewell Joins Paradise Lost

Oooooh yeah! Alex Proyas sure knows how to line up one hell of a cast…no pun intended. THR reports that Rufus Sewell (“The Tourist”) has joined the cast of Proyas’ “Paradise Lost”.

Sewell joins the adaptation of the epic 17th century English poem by John Milton as Samael, Lucifer’s partisan who urges him to begin the rebellion in heaven.

“Paradise Lost” tells the story of the epic war in heaven between archangel’s Michael (Walker) and Lucifer (Cooper), and will be deconstructed as a broadly relatable epic action that will include aerial warfare, possibly shot in 3D. (Yes please!)

Cast includes Benjamin Walker, Bradley Cooper, Casey Affleck, Sam Reid and Djimon Hounsou.Diego Boneta and Camilla Belle are also cast as Adam and Eve.

Sewell will next be seen in the June 2012 release of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” opposite Benjamin Walker. This will be Sewell’s second time teaming up with Proyas, working previously on “Dark City”.
