And not just any old snowman or Frosty the Snowman for that matter. Martin Scorsese’s too awesome for that. The director has just been confirmed to direct an adaptation of Norwegian author Jo Nesbo’s best-selling novel “The Snowman” for Working Title Films.
THR reports that Scorsese had been circling the project for some time now (since last month) but Nesbo had to give final approval for the director. He has done so, confirming to a Swedish newspaper that Scorsese will direct the first English-language adaptation of his work. Nesbo added that he would not insist Snowman be shot on location in Olso, where the book is set.

“World War Z” screenwriter Matthew Michael Carnahan will pen the script to “Snowman” while Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce.
