Bruce Almighty Sequel is Headed Our Way

Well, since 2007’s “Evan Almighty” with Steve Carell wasn’t as funny as Jim Carrey in 2003’s “Bruce Almighty”, I can see why Universal would want Carrey to come back to reprise his role for a sequel.

Variety is reporting that Universal is in talks with Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel (“Hot Tub Time Machine,” “Yes Men”) to write a follow-up to the 2003 hit “Bruce Almighty” with Carrey’s role being developed as a starring vehicle.

In the ’03 film, Carrey played Bruce Nolan, a television reporter in Buffalo, N.Y. who is discontented with almost everything in life despite his popularity and the love of his girlfriend Grace (Jennifer Aniston) . At the end of the worst day of his life, Bruce angrily ridicules and rages against God (Morgan Freeman) and God responds. God appears in human form and, endowing Bruce with divine powers, challenges Bruce to take on the big job to see if he can do it any better.

What do y’all think of this news? ‘Bout time or has the ship on this sequel sailed?
