Chris Tucker confirms involvement in The Intouchables remake

The acclaimed, very successful French export “The Intouchables” is getting the English-language remake treatment courtesy “Bridesmaids” director Paul Feig.

Today, word on who will play one of the film’s two leads in the film – Chris Tucker.

The “Rush Hour” actor tells Blackfilm he’s a fan of the original and hopes the redo comes off.

“I’ve seen it and yes, I have been talking with them (producers) about doing it. I hope something will come out of it because I really like the movie and they are in the process of getting it together. So there’s a possibility that it might happen.”

The original tells of an aristocrat who, after he becomes a quadriplegic from a paragliding accident, hires a young man from the projects to be his caretaker. Tucker, currently seen in “The Silver Linings Playbook”, would play Sy, the caretaker.

Colin Firth, Jamie Foxx and Jessica Chastain had also been rumoured to be battling for roles in the remake; Foxx, assumingly, in the role Tucker looks to have scored.
