NBC on Twin Peaks return : Ya know, that ain’t such a bad idea

The rumour that hit the net last week suggesting “Twin Peaks” was up for a reprise at NBC was, not surprisingly (c’mon! it was posted a day after we quoted Mark Frost in the latest issue of Sci-Fi Now saying he’d be interested in continuing the show; convenient, much!?), bogus but seems BS may have triggered the imagination of the station brass.

Speaking at this year’s TCA Press tour, NBC Prez of Entertainment Jennifer Salke responded to the rumours, adding that she likes the idea of bringing back the ’90s sensation.

“I called everybody when I got the email,” Digital Spy quotes Salke. “None of us had gotten a call about that, not from an agent, not from the writer, not the head of drama… so we’re wondering the same thing you are.”

However, she added: “When it came up we all looked at each other and said, ‘That’s a good idea’. We were all kind of like, ‘Hmm, we like Twin Peaks!’ So, I’ll send some emails today, and see what I can get to come in.”

The fan base is most definitely still there. Less “Melrose Place 2.0” and more “Dallas 2.0”, and it might just work.
