X-Men : Apocalypse to explore mutant origins

Bryan Singer says he’ll likely direct “X-Men : Apocalypse”, the recently-announced “X-Men” project the filmmaker announced via the little blue bird in December.

Speaking with EW, Singer – still tinkering with “X-Men : Days of Future Past”, due in a couple of months – said he’s “co-writing the story and I’m producing it. I’m negotiating to direct. We’re in the process. We’re trying to figure it out, schedules. My desire would be to direct it.”

Though he has begun brainstorming over “Apocalypse”, the director doesn’t know whether he’ll include a tease for the film in May’s “Days of Future Past” (though they’ll certainly be linked by more than just a hairy dude with side burns).

“I’m still deciding [whether Days of Future Past will feature an Apocalypse tease]. Something that happens in this movie causes what’s going to happen in that movie.”

The script, by Dan Harris, Michael Dougherty and Simon Kinberg , will reportedly fix on the origins of Mutants.

“It will also address historical mutant-cy, meaning the deep past, mutant origins and things like that. It’s something that’s always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers.”

While it’s definitely cool to know Singer’s back in the saddle for another, let’s just get a hold of ourselves, shall we, and jizz for the film that’s just around the steel corridor – “Days of Future Past”.
