Joe Cornish (“Attack the Block”) will direct the previously-announced “Section 6”, a spy thriller for Universal -in the vein of the “Bourne” franchise – which Jack O’Connell will headline.
According to The Wrap, David MacKenzie and Tom Hooper were also in the mix to direct the film, the story of Sir George Mansfield Cummings, who served as the inspiration for M in the James Bond series, and was the first head of MI6.
Universal acquired the script for a sumly seven-figures.
