Katheryn Winnick (“Vikings”) has joined the cast of Warner Bros and Skydance Productions’ “Geostorm”, says Deadline.
Gerard Butler stars in the film as a man sent into space to prevent climate-controlling satellites from creating a cataclysmic storm capable of destroying the planet.
Winnick, whose other credits include “Love and Other Drugs” and “A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III”, plays Butler’s ex-wife and the mother of his daughter.
Jim Sturgess, Andy Garcia, Ed Harris, and Abbie Cornish are also aboard the Dean Devlin (“Independence Day”) directed movie.
Devlin wrote the film with Michele Mulroney and Kieran Mulroney.
Production on “Gestorm” begins next month in New Orleans.
