FOX doing Hitch TV series

Another day, another damn TV show based on a movie announced.

Hot on the heels of ABC’s plans to televise the script for ’80s comedy “Bachelor Party”, Fox have announced that they’re bringing Will Smith vehicle “Hitch” to the small screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has committed to a script; it’ll be penned by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont (”Made of Honor”). Will Smith’s Overbook Entertainment will executive produce, alongside Sony.

This isn’t the first time Sony and Overbrook have tried to milk “Hitch” – they tried to get TV versions up at CBS and later, FOX (a different incarnation with different writers to the version that got the go-ahead) but both ideas fell on flat ears.

FOX also currently have Jennifer Lopez flick “Monster-in-Law” getting the series treatment.
