Ben Affleck’s Batman in Suicide Squad?

Ben Affleck’s Batman is rumoured to be making a short appearance in the upcoming “Suicide Squad”, if only to set up a future solo Batman movie. The Caped Crusader will appear towards the end of the movie – a film that teams some of Batman’s biggest and baddest foes, including the Joker – to play bridge to a standalone Batman movie.

Forbes have the scoop :

I’ve heard for weeks that Batman will appear in Suicide Squad, supposedly in an in-story scene, likely at the end of the film and focused on certain circumstances involving the Joker (which I won’t spoil here).

This would set up the Joker as a possible/likely antagonist in the solo Batman movie that’s planned in the next few years, and which I’ve heard will take some inspiration from Frank Miller’s comic book series The Dark Knight Returns — the third issue of which is a story about Batman facing off against an escaped Joker. I’m also told that Gotham City Police Commissioner Ellen Yindel (who replaces James Gordon during the comic book story) is planned for inclusion in the film.

Latino Review, while not having anything on Batman’s inclusion in the film, have some other juicy details on the movie including who the film’s hero will be, Lex Luthor’s role in the movie, and how the film sets up not only a “Suicide Squad” franchise but another prospective series.
